(Photos via Twitter/@wassanananuam)The cabinet on Tuesday endorsed the nomination of Gen Wanlop Rugsanoh, the director of the Defence Ministry's policy planning office, as the new secretary-general of the National Security Council (NSC). Gen Wanlop will succeed outgoing NSC chief Thawip Netniyom. A Class 18 member of the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School and an artillery soldier, Gen Wanlop has two years remaining in the military before his retirement in October in 2019. Gen Wanlop also served as a mission coordinator for the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia's peace-keeping operation in Cambodia.
